A brief history of JIMCO, Inc:
Three brothers, James, Juan (known as John) and Don Grube, grew up on a farm in Missouri, and all graduated from Central Missouri State College. They took different career paths... but each was involved in some field of the automotive aftermarket.

While still in college, James (Jim) Grube began rebuilding heavy-duty truck voltage regulators on a part-time basis. After graduating, he turned his rebuilding into a full-time business and started JIMCO Tech Rebuilders. Together, the three brothers, Jim, Juan and Don, developed the JIMCO voltage regulator tester. Juan, who had been working full time as an Industrial Engineer, joined Jim at JIMCO in 1973, to build the regulator testers.

As JIMCO grew, it was divided into two separate companies, and under Juan's leadership, JIMCO, Inc. was established in 1976.

JIMCO Today: JIMCO, Inc. is a major manufacturer of test equipment, test leads and replacement wire parts for the automotive aftermarket. The equipment line now includes alternator - generator - starter test-benches, quality control alternator testers and component testers. In addition, JIMCO is now well known for its technical information and manuals. With a few exceptions, JIMCO manufactures every item that it sells. As a manufacturer, its sales are primarily to automotive electrical rebuilders and to their suppliers.
